Boy with the Cat, after Cecilia Beaux, Oil on Canvas, 20x16"
This painting was a portrait commission for Duncan's senior yearbook and was intentionally tongue in cheek, seated in a suit with his cat Sammy. Duncan was 17 yet an old soul and I was inspired to paint a parody on Man with the Cat (Henry Sturgis Drinker) by Cecilia Beaux, 1898. Dunca's chair was very modern and pale yellow and reminiscent of David Hockney's seated portraits. In Private Collection.
