Boy with the Cat, after Cecilia Beaux, Oil on Canvas, 20x16"

This painting was a portrait commission for Duncan's senior yearbook and was intentionally tongue in cheek, seated in a suit with his cat Sammy. Duncan was 17 yet an old soul and I was inspired to paint a parody on Man with the Cat (Henry Sturgis Drinker) by Cecilia Beaux, 1898. Dunca's chair was very modern and pale yellow and reminiscent of David Hockney's seated portraits.
