A SCIENTIFIC MIND MEETS AN ARTISTC HEART

I want to look beyond the mirror, see beneath the surface and understand what it's all about.

Then I want to just let loose in paint, and be without words.

Rachel Solimeno Eye.jpg

I'm a Seattle based emerging artist, born and raised in Britain, I grew up above a shop and am a natural people watcher interested in the stories. Digital overload spurred my career change. After a long background in AI, my works explore how our physical, emotional and virtual worlds are colliding. The artist and scientist brains try to find balance and thrive in the physical magic of light, air and water. Color is primary while I excavate and build layers of paint or plexiglass, looking for patterns and meaning. If you look twice you might find a painting reveals some hidden connections.

Ultimately it's about the arc of life, being curious of its messy, traumatic, beautiful challenges. I believe art can engage, heal and enrich our lives.
