Monstera in Chartreuse
30x30" Acrylic on Canvas
In a modern contemporary painting style, it took its inspiration from my previous painting, 'Emergence' which was a self portrait emerging from a monstera plant. In this iteration it became fragmented, and pixelated. Monstera in Chartreuse is a sibling to Monsetera in Opera, but a greener version for those who enjoy the calm hues of plant life. A meditation on the digital age and how we relate to the natural world and are intertwined with it. I was thinking about fragmentation and connection while painting it, and my lifelong love of 'cheese plants' aka monsteras.
The painting is on a premium gallery wrapped canvas with a 1.5" depth.
